Ildelisa Mora

Ildelisa was born on September 1, 1950 to Pedro Covarrubias and Carlotta Castañeda in Tlatenango, Zacatecas. Ildelisa moved to Mexicali, Baja, California, where she met Jesus Ramon Mora at a young age. They were married for fifty-four years. She and Jesus went on to have five children, Maria, Jesus, Livier, Efrain, and Angelica. In 1987, the family packed their belongings and immigrated to the U.S. Ildelisa and Jesus purchased a house in San Bernardino, California, which became home for their children and grandchildren. Her home always stood apart from the others in the neighborhood, recognizable for its vibrant color and the beautiful rose bushes making it easy for family & friends to find and drop off “La cundina” to Indela. La cundinabecame a staple for many people who crossed paths with Ildelisa. For many, it was a chance at a new beginning. Friends and family could always count on Indela’s consistency, generosity, and wisdom to teach them how to make very little go a long way. Ildelisa did not just teach us how to work hard, but she also taught us how to reward ourselves for the work we put in. A beloved regular at Coco’s, she enjoyed drinking coffee and conversing with family, friends, and staff. It is highly probable that if you made it to Coco’s with her, then you have indeed committed yourself to a “quick” shopping trip to Marshalls with Indela. A trip in which she would inevitably convince you that you need to reward yourself, “Con una blusita nueva” or “Un pantalon Levi’s .” In addition to her love for coffee and shopping excursions, Ildelisa enjoyed cooking. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed sharing meals with her family. Family gatherings would almost always end with her children singing familiar rancheras y nortenas that she taught them. She had immense love for her family, and her dedication to them was unparalleled. Her strength, compassion, humor, and spirit will live on through all of us. Ildelisa Mora is survived by her husband, five children, eighteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren..
