Ismael Chavez Sr. also known as Smiley, was 65. He passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at his daughter Kimberly's home, in Redlands, California, surrounded by family. He was born on August 3, 1956, to Guadalupe and Inocencio Chavez, in Chihuahua, Mexico. He was one of 8 children.
He was a brother, uncle, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to many. Smiley is survived by his father Inocencio, his children Bertha, Ismael Jr. also known as Dadas, Kimberly, Tricia, Ramiro & Cristal, 18 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren, all of which he adored. He is also survived by 6 of his siblings Jessie, Victor, Mike, Rosey, Lupita, and Caroline.
Smiley was predeceased by his mother Guadalupe at a very young age, as well as his older brother Alfred Chavez who passed away last year. May they all Rest In Peace.
His kids & family were his everything. Then came his work. He worked hard at everything he put his hands on & created magic. His love for building and fixing things was evident. He loved that hammer!
Smiley was a quiet man, but once you got him talking he was a man of many jokes. He was a kind man. His tireless love and devotion to his family were evident until his final moments.
