Jeanette Eilene Lorenzen (lovingly known as Jan or Ginger) of Big Bear Lake, California, entered into Heaven on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Born on April 12, 1943, in Peoria, Arizona, she was the daughter of Preston Alexander and Effie Faye Robertson.
Jan had the joy of marrying the boy next door and was married for 54 years to David Alfred Lorenzen before he passed away in 2015. Together they raised three sons: Tim, Mark, and Jon. They enjoyed traveling, working on projects together, and building their dream home. Jan was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and dog owner. She was always up for a visit and enjoyed providing a meal to all who gathered.
Jan was an incredibly creative genius who could turn any idea into a reality. She was gifted in ways that many of us would hope for just a fraction of. Her skills were not limited to various mediums and canvases, and could turn any living space into a work of art.
God was the focus of Jan’s life and she faithfully served Him in various ministries throughout her life. Jan was a good listener and would gently give advice if one would lend an ear. Some great advice she left us is this: Attitude is everything, don’t sweat the small stuff and happiness, thankfulness and joy…are all a choice.
Our hope is that as you remember our precious mama you will share what you gleaned when you had the joy of being in her presence.
Jan is survived by her three boys, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and is highly honored in our hearts.
