Leocadio Fabro

Leocadio "Gaby" Fabro was born in Orange Walk Town in Belize on October 7, 1938 to Leocadio Fabro and Paula Briceño. He died by his side with his wife and family during the Memorial Day weekend on 6/1/2021 in the home of his daughter in Rialto, Ca.

He was married to one woman, Gregoria "Goya" Fabro for over 54 years. He was a tailor in Belize but was a foreman in the furniture business for most of his life in Los Angeles, California.

He was survived by his wife of 54+ years Gregoria "Goya" Fabro, his sister Emelda Fuller and brother Tony Fabro, his only 2 daughters María Lourdes Fabro and Perla Yvette Solis (Fabro).

He had 8 grandchildren: Anthony, Priscilla, Kandace, Henry lll, Andrew Leo, Louie, Nicole "NIkki" and Brenden.

He had 13 great grandchildren from his 2 daughters: Anthony, Ruben, Yvette, Charles, Daniel, Darlean, Priscilla "Priss", Raelene, Alexander, Nicholas, Sophia, Lilyana and the baby...Preston.

To our mom, you were know as "Fabro". Our dad was the LOVE OF HER LIFE. She was very in love when they married. He is the only man she's ever loved even through the rough times. In tears, she is thankful for her 2 most precious gifts... "her daughters". Thank you Fabro!

To his his daughters Perla Yvette and María Lourdes he was the most caring and loving dad who would do anything for his daughters and grandchildren. We loved going with you to Belizean parties in our youth. Dad we loved watching you slow dance with mom. You were the best dad a daughter could have. We are happy we had you till your 82nd birthday +

To many he was known for his love of music, Belizean music, jazz and romantic slow songs, We loved your entertaining dance 🕺 moves, jokes and stories.

Dad, you protected us from mom when we were in trouble. We got so much love from you. You never got vexed except that 1 time. I dont even remember what we did but you gave us a swat on the butt and I felt as if I got lifted off the floor, it hurt so much (I thought at the time). That was the only time we got spanked by you. We got lots of hugs and love from you...thank you.

Dad, what can I say? You and mom were always there for Henry and our kids. You were there to support me in whatever decisions I made without any judgment. You worried about me and always put my happiness above all. I can say with a true heart, you were there for me and I felt very loved. Like I told you during our father/daughter dance at my wedding: you are my hero and your unconditional love will be remembered not only by me but by many. Also, I told you how I loved that you were a hard worker and not a slacker. I know we won't have you physically here anymore but I know your spirit will always be with us. I have so many many memories which we shared....along with a cold beer 🍻 or a glass of wine 🍷. Dad, you are the dad many girls wish they had. Your love meant more to me than any material items most daughters would want from a parent. You know me...simple Perla. I like the simple things in life. Thank you for all the love, memories, laughs and food you brought to our home. We love you dad.

My husband Henry admired you and loved you so much. I hope you knew that because Henry would always say "I would do anything for your dad, I love that man!".

"Dad, I loved how you called me your Lulu. To me, my dad was the worlds best dad. He was happy, funny, outgoing and loved by a lot of people. I'm going to truly miss you. Life is not going to be the same without you. After I moved out of state and revisited California, I remembered the delicious fruits like mango and coconut you bought for me. I am glad you made it for your granddaughter Kandace's wedding in 2017. I love you dad".

Grandpa, you may have had silver grey hair but a heart of gold. We can't tell you how much We are going to miss you. We have so many fond, loving and fun memories of you. All the summer vacations we spent with you and grandma Gregoria in Orange Walk, Belize and Cancun were the best for Anthony and I. We always looked forward to going for the love we got and felt from you guys. Even when we just stayed in your apartment and went out locally. Your love will forever be embedded in our minds and hearts. Thank you Grandpa for being the BEST grandpa ever, not just to us but our kids.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”] ... Grandpa Leo. I will miss our conversations. Grandpa you always were two steps ahead of people. Always watching quietly while people made fools of themselves and then quietly looking over at me and shaking your head. I will miss messing around with grandma when she said she knew someone who could stop tornadoes with their hands. You laughed so hard that day, we all laughed together. You kept saying “alakazam, the storm is gone”, If only I had recorded it. I will miss the random questions about anything and everything, to see if I was paying attention or knew some small tidbit of information. You were a master checkers player with the sly “you don’t want to eat, okay” my pieces would vanish so fast. I’ll remember trying to not nic your chin when shaving your beard and you would tease, that maybe one day I would have one like you. I always looked forward to you asking me to put a movie on. We would sit and watch a variety of movies for hours or until you got told something. My little solis family was very lucky to have you around. The girls love you so much. Trisha and I love you so much. We will always miss you. It’s tough for us but I know your in a better place. Raelene and Lily are still looking for their papa Leo.

Grandpa, besides sharing my my middle name with you, what can I say? I love you, my kids loved you and I will miss not see you around to chat with I will miss your jokes. My mom playing Belizean music will remind me of you. Don't flirt up in heaven too much. We love you Alexander and Nicholas too.

Grandpa Leo, I love you and I hope you liked all the necklaces and bracelets I made you. I saw you wearing them. I will still write you notes and make you bracelets and have Grandma Gregoria hold them for you. I love you and will miss you. Good night grandpa!

In 2010 you got hurt at work and fractured your leg and hip. Unfortunately it ended with you retiring. That must've initially been hard since you loved working. With loving care and support you healed and went about your old self. You would leave in the mornings walking through the neighboring street in Los Angeles and end up in Hollywood many times. You were always looking for old records and songs. This became a regular thing for you.

In 2017 you had a stroke which affected you physically but you were still in going strong and in good spirits. Your walking was limited but with the help of your wife Goya and grandkids, you got some of your physical capabilities back.

After your 2nd hip fracture it got a little difficult for you to get around. Our mom believed you could get better and always pushed you to your limit and made you work hard. She didn't want you to loose your mobility. You weren't always happy to do all the therapies you were told. You tried until it became to hard.

We know how physically active you were in your life that we aren't surprised how it affected you not being able to do what you use to do. You became dependent on mom who always made sure you were clean and your needs taken care of.

We picked you and mom up for Easter 2021 as we usually do every easter and holiday and in between visits to Rialto, Ca. It was different this time. You weren't feeling too good. We had you checked and your stomach was not well. You must've known but you never said much about it you said you were doing so so it not to good you kept some of your pain from us

You went so fast. You weren't yourself anymore. We could see you were in pain now. You wanted to be around mom and always checking to see if she was in the room. Mom was with you 24/7 for the last few years and even more so this last year. Mom/your wife Gregoria loved and took care of you with some help from Perla and family.

You and mom stayed our house for months at a time for the last 4 years. We got even closer and we loved hearing your stories. We loved watching movies and cooking shows with you.

You were the life of many of our parties. Your presence will truly be missed. We know how much you loved being at Casa Solis for the holiday for the dinner and family gatherings. We would drink wine together. You would spend hours talking to your son in law Henry who love you dearly. You guys would sometimes go to the swap meet on the weekends with Henry.

We all loved you so much and will miss you, although you will forever live on all our hearts. We have so many fun, crazy, loving and incredible memories shared. We even have videos of some 😉 💗.

To my husband Gaby, our Dad, grandpa, great grandpa Leo and friend Leocadio "Gaby"...may you Rest in Paradise and Rise in Glory. Until we meet again with our Heavenly Father.
