

Lucy was born December 27th, 1948 and raised in El Paso, Texas. She came from a big family (she was one of eight children) four girls, four boys. She graduated from Bel Air High School in El Paso and then moved to California. She was living in Santa Monica when she met the love of her life, her first husband, Carson Kinn and had three children, Christina, Thelma, and Brian Kinn. She attended Chaffey College to follow her dream of becoming a nurse. She worked in the ICU as an RN for 25 years. She was a devoted Catholic and prayed the rosary daily. She was a Eucharistic Minister and President of Legion of Mary, which was when she met her soul mate and second husband, George Miranda. They were like teenagers in love and traveled the world together. Lucy was caring, nurturing, loving and the matriarch of our family. Lucy touched many lives throughout her nursing career and also in her ministries of the church with kindness and compassion. She will be deeply missed more than words can express. Her legacy of faithfulness to Jesus and the Blessed Mother will remain in us for eternity.
She is survived by her two daughters, Christina Mallory-Holt and Thelma Carotenuti, four grandchildren, Katerina Duff-Harper, Briana Kinn, William Holt, and Charles Carotenuti II, two great grandchildren, Alaric Duff-Harper and Melody Lopez, two Godchildren, Paula Alvarado and Juan Rodriquez, and sister Paula Rodriguez.
Preceded in death by her first husband of 32 years, Carson Kinn, and second husband of 17 years, George Miranda, her son Brian Kinn, her parents, Jose Hernandez and Juana Frias Hernandez, her four brothers, Conrad, Gonzalo, Joe, Humberto and two sisters, Tomasita and Socorro “Sukie.”
