On September 1st, Michael “No Neck” Bratten received a call that too many stars were going dark, so the heavens reached out to the best transmission foreman hoping he could help more to go nova/supernova. Of course, Mike answered the call; we all know he couldn’t turn down the Benjamins. Since Mike doesn’t believe in coming home before the job is done, we don’t know just when we will see him again. However, we can be on the watch for the new Blaze Star (T CrB) by the end of the month that will confirm his hard work, just one of thousands that will dot the skies above. In the meantime, his family will do “the best they know how” just as he has always done.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Sue, of fifty-eight years; his beautiful and intelligent (as he described) children and grandchildren: daughter, Wendy, her (on sabbatical) husband, Jeff, and granddaughter, Madeline; daughter, Cindy, her husband, Larry, and grandchildren, Brittney, Brett (Buster Brown), and Carley; and son, Michael and his partner, Eddy. He was preceded in death by his angel baby, Kimberly Sue. He is also survived by his sister, Patty, and brother, Jim, and their families.
Graveside services to be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Thursday September 26, 2024 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Mike’s name to the Anxiety and
Depression Association of America (AADA) to help all who suffer from these debilitating disorders
