Shirley was a stay-at-home mom for many years. She would make many of the dresses for her daughters Beverly and Donna. Quilting was something she enjoyed, having the neighborhood women over to work together to make beautiful quilts. She loved to garden and had many potted plants.
She then went to work at National Can Corp. working as an inspector for many years. She then went to work for Mindrum Precision Parts till her retirement.
Shirley loved riding horses, in 1977 she owned her first horse named Domingo. She spent many hours riding. She also had her own trail bike and would go trail riding with her husband Marshall and son Danny.
Shirley loved getting together with family and friends. Cooking for her large family was always one of her favorite things to do. The Perkins household was where her large family would be for all the holidays, Thanksgiving is the holiday she loved the most.
After her children were grown and had their own children Christmas Eve at Moms house was where all the family and grandkids would go for a loud and happy Christmas. Her house was small and with 6 grown children and all the grandkids we somehow all fit in and had a great time.
Shirley also loved to crochet, making many beautiful Afghan’s. Camping was a family outing and you could always count on mom to make a big breakfast with the Coleman stove.
For her final days Shirley was surrounded by her loved ones. Family and friends, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren came to spend time with her and tell her goodbye. We will all miss you.
