Alan Bruce Coxhead

Alan Bruce Coxhead, 83, of Silver Spring, MD passed away on October 24, 2023. Born on June 10, 1942, Alan was known for his fun, energetic, and kind personality. He is survived by his beloved wife Joan Lieber, sister Judy Wooten, his children Drew Coxhead, Dave Coxhead, Jill Hoffman and Joan Lieber's children Lisa Jablonover and Steven Lieber. Alan was also cherished by his grandchildren Aaron Clarke, Paul Clarke, Naomi Clarke, Ella Coxhead, Ben Jablonover, Jeremy Jablonover and Annika Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his parents Alice and Sheldon Coxhead and his first wife, Diane Coxhead. Alan graduated from the University of Illinois and had a successful sales career within the plastics industry. His work took him all over the country, and he made significant efforts to revolutionize the industry by contributing to the creation of biodegradable plastics, aiming to reduce landfill waste and pollution. In his free time, Alan enjoyed various hobbies throughout his life, including both domestic and international travel, attending theatre performances, and continuing his education by taking classes in his favorite subjects including history, politics and music. He also loved books, movies, cooking outside, camping and exploring the world of trains. A private ceremony was held in Columbia Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions be made to a charitable cause of your choice.
