Andrew J. Styrcula was born September 28, 1956 to Edward and Helen Styrcula. Loving father to two sons, Trent and Alex Styrcula, and one daughter, Kira Burkhart. Andrew enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1978. He served 23 years of active service in California, Korea, and Maryland, and was awarded the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal during his time in the Army. Andrew retired as a Sergeant Major in 2003 and settled down in Columbia, MD. After military service, Andrew worked as a Civil Service employee until he retired in 2014. After retirement, Andrew enjoyed taking walks along the trails by his house, observing nature, rooting for Ohio State football, and playing board games with his family.
