David,
It has been since the 80's when we last spoke but the hometown Scandia guys kept me updated throughout the years. I am on the phone now with Garen Engquist who has relayed me the sad news. You were one of our first fast pitch coaches in Scandia. Thank you. You put up with us guys on the ball field when we were all in our early 20's (early 1980's). Wins were far and few between but you stuck with us. After you left for Maryland that hometown group of guys won a State Title in 1987. Thanks Dave for the memories.  Richard Quigley

I enjoyed spending time with David during his many visits back to Minnesota over the years.  His charm and wit was enjoyed by his many friends and family members.  He was a generous man and will be missed.

Although Dave was quite a distance from us in miles, he was not far in thought!  He often sent funny and/or uplifting email messages that would brighten my day. He even called me on my birthday and sang to me.  Thanks David for keeping us in your heart.

To David Sandberg a man I first met while I was at NSA with the US Army.  He quickly became a brother and a friend to me my wife Debra and my son Michael.  Which I lost my son to the second Gulf War and my wife Debra a year and half later.  David, my heart was ripped from my chest today when I found out about your death.  May the Lord welcome you with open arms and I am sure Sgt Michael Louis Vaughan will be there at the gates of Heaven to welcome you home and to treat you as you treated him when we all first met.  I have had to let another very close friend go today.  God Bless you David and may you rest in peace.
