My sincerest condolences to Mr. Bruce MacLean, Steve, Don and family.
I always felt welcome into your house by Mrs. MacLean.
I know that she had a tough job raising kids 'like that'(you know I am kidding Steve), but she truly did a wonderful job. Her inquisitive nature, love of nature, generosity, wonderful smile, and mostly her kindness live on in Don and Steve.
I am blessed to have known her. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

This is something Don and I wrote together:
 
Lynda was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, and an adoring grandmother to her beloved granddaughter.  All these roles came naturally to her and she embraced them with joy and enthusiasm.
 
She loved sunshine, spring wildflowers, kayaking with her husband Bruce, and wildlife, especially birds.  She enjoyed visiting gardens, the beach (she LOVED the ocean), and going to fancy teas and Baltimore Blast games.  She played a mean game of cribbage, was becoming an avid user or her Apple laptop, and enjoyed conversing with Cheryl's mother by e-mail.  Special places she loved to visit included coastal Maine, National Parks out west, Ocean City, St. Michaels, Havre de Grace, and Chincoteague.  There were three special friends in her life whom she showered with attention: Pepsi, Cinder, and Mr. Tom.
 
She charmed us with her deviled eggs, cucumber salad, hamburger pie, and, most importantly, the "world-famous" mocha cake!
 
Lynda was always there for others.  When her son Don injured his hand in a car accident, she tirelessly accompanied him on many doctor's visits, performed home nursing duties, and provided encouragement to keep going when he was trying to balance both graduate school and physical therapy.
 
Once her granddaughter Kayleigh arrived, she bonded with her immediately and spent a lot of time spoiling her.
 
We will all miss the bright light, warmth, and humor that Lynda brought to our lives.

We always welcomed the opportunity to see Lynda and Bruce.  Most recently, we enjoyed spending time together on our visit to Maryland.  Lynda's kindness and warmth made her such an easy person to talk with.  We especially loved to see the wonderful connection between Lynda and Kayleigh.  Lynda will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  We feel fortunate to have shared such lovely memories together.

Our hearts go out to Bruce, Don, Steven, Cheryl, Kayleigh and family.  Lynda was a lovely person, full of grace and kindness.  It was always a pleasure to spend time with her at Kayleigh's birthday parties and family gatherings.  We will miss her.  May your fond memories of her help you through this difficult time.

We have known Lynda for over 35 years We shall miss her smile and  the friendship we have had over those many years.

Mimi was a wonderful grandmother.  I loved to play card games with her like Go Fish and Old Maid.  And we did tea parties together and we loved to go to Baldwin's Station.  We also played with Goosey and I liked to watch her type e-mails to my other Grandmother.  I also used to help her cook food for the tea parties.  I will always remember her coming to my birthdays.  What I will miss the most is going to her house to play with her.  I will miss her very much.

Lynda always made me and all of Don's friends feel welcome in her home.  She always had a big, bright smile for us.  Her hospitality and open heart live on in Don and Steven.

Long Voicemails
My mother would leave us the most hysterical voicemails that would go on forever.  She couldn't seem to understand that we had digital voicemail and would always ask us if we were screening our calls.  Then she would say hello to Cinder, and later, Kayleigh.  The funniest part is how, in a long stream on consciousness, she would start off with a simple message that would somehow morph into a long discussion about the weather, what she was looking forward to eating in the near future, what she and Dad were doing that day and what she could see out her window.  The messages were an amusing joy to listen to and we always looked forward to them.

Food
My mother love to eat out, but she was really funny about it.  At almost every meal, no matter how special or yummy that meal was, she would start talking about the next meal.  Even funnier, she remember things, especially about vacations, by the food.  My father would ask her if she remembered some location from their travels, and she would respond : “Ooo, that was where I had that lobster, and you had that Shepherd's Pie.”  Her memory of their food escapades was incredible.

Birds
When I was young, my Mother used to see hawks and other birds of prey everywhere we went.  She would see them as we were driving down the road and would cry out excitedly, and no one else would see them except her.  We teased her about that constantly, lightheartedly questioning her sanity.  Then, as I grew up, I developed a keen searching image just like my Mother and now I see what she saw: I see birds everywhere, all the time!  Its amazing ... and so was  Mom.

I am so saddended to hear of Lynda's passing.  Remembering back to the days at Ft. Meade in the 70's, to working together at Hecht's together, to seeing her at my parents for many different occasions, Lynda was a kind, sweet person with a smile for everyone.  She will be greatly missed.  Bruce, Donald, Steven, and all of the family - you have my and my  husband's heartfelt regrets.

Dad, Don, & Steven,
My deepest condolences to you all.  More than a few times during our college days, Mom was like a mom to me too.  I know I am a better person for knowing Mom.  I cherish the memory of her and all the fun we kids had at Queen Maria Ct.  These moments of grievous surprise are never easy, but Mom lives on in our hearts and prayers.  She will now protect you from the heavens as she did so well in life.
We regret we cannot make it to the service.  Jen, Evy and I pray you will get through this sad moment swiftly and we will keep Mom's memory alive in our hearts.  Best wishes.

My thoughts are with you all. Lynda was beautiful inside and out. I loved how she was always glamorous even if she was kayaking or playing with her beloved Granddaughter.  Wishing you strength and peace.
