Matina (Tina) M. Wiles passed on away on Sunday February 2, 2025 at the age of 74 after a long illness. She was born November 15, 1950 to Harry and Stella Mantakos in Baltimore, MD. Tina attended Eastern High School in Baltimore, followed by Western Maryland College (now McDaniel) where she received a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in English Literature and became a high school teacher. While at Western Maryland, she met and married Dan, who were happily together for 55 years. Throughout her life, Tina was dedicated to her family. She also had a passion for books and was a voracious reader, leading to her later career as a bookstore manager. Tina is survived by her husband Dan, brother George, sons Andrew and Michael (daughter-in-law Liz), and nieces Lisa, Stella and nephew Harry. Tina also had a number of very close friends whom she adored almost as much (or more) as she did classic literature.
