

Anna Gasperson, 91, of Columbia, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 in Columbia. A visitation will be Thursday, February 22nd from 10-11am at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia followed by a graveside service at 11:30am in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Anna was born July 1, 1932 in Meta, MO to Philip and Mary Luebbering Herigon. She grew up in Boonville, MO and was a 1950 graduate of Saints Peter & Paul High School. At the age of 19, she married Bill Gasperson in Boonville. Then in 1953, her father took her and her infant daughter to New York City. She traveled by ship and train to join her husband in France, where he was stationed in the US Military. After his service, they returned the states and settled in Columbia. Together they had five children. They loved to travel, camp, go dancing, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He preceded her in death after 22 years of marriage. Over the years, she worked as a bookkeeper for companies including Burnams and Remsel Corporation. She enjoyed crochet and was a talented seamstress, even making her own wedding dress. She enjoyed working in her garden and reading, but she loved spending time with her grandchildren most of all. In 1990, she married Bill Dilse of Boonville, MO. They enjoyed many activities together including fishing and family gatherings during their 19 years of marriage. He preceded her in death in 2009.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Carol) Gasperson of Columbia, Myra (Mark) Little of Columbia, Patti (Danny) Thomas of Ashland, and Sandy (Troy) Kite of Columbia; grandkids, Amanda (Tony) Crocker, Rebecca (Damon) Skaggs, Josh (Maddie) Little, Misie (John) Crane, Sarah Nowlin, Jessica (Reese) Helkma, Rynda (Bryan) Kemp, and Derek Kite; great-grandkids, Nikki, Jeremiah, Jack, Holden, Kasen, Avery, Kaitlyn & Finley; step great grandkids, Erika (Jacob), Blaine, Rylie, Ashlyn, Halee; and step great great granddaughter Kinzlee; siblings, Irene (Bernie) Wolz of Glasgow, Gene (Emilie) Herigon of Boonville, Mary Jane Gudde of Holden, Josephine Wolken of California, and Florence Weber of Glasgow, many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers (Clarence, Ernest, Donnie and Robert Herigon), a sister Eleanor, husbands William “Bill” Gasperson and Bill Dilse; a daughter, Beatrice Gasperson, and two grandsons, Bill Gasperson and Adam Little.
