Barbara Jean Rader

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior, from 12:00-1:00, at the funeral home.

She was born on April 1, 1931 in Boone County, the daughter of Grace (Brincefield) and Earnest Wheeler.

Survivors include her brothers, Delbert Wheeler and Charles (Marilyn) Wheeler; sisters, Frances Welsh and Sally Kaiser; grandsons, Kenneth E. Squires and Jake Squires; great grandchildren, Arianna, Skyler, Rebekah, Anthony and Isaballe and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Vaughn and her second husband, Russell Rader, her daughter, Prisella “Nancy” Squires and 8 sisters, Estill Batts, Cleo Mohr, Katherine Wyatt, Joy Cox, Nadine Roberts, Margaret Roberts, Marie Gibson, Betty Lou Wheeler and 4 brothers, James, Woodrow, Claude and Fred Wheeler.

Barbara was born and raised in Boone County and worked for many years as a hotel housekeeper in Las Vegas and later volunteered at the Columbia Food Bank and has been a Foster Grandparent for many years in Columbia. Barbara was very devoted to the Salvation Army. Barbara loved her family and all her friends and she will be greatly missed by all of them. She loved Cardinals baseball and all sports and she especially loved her dog, June Bug. Barbara will always be remembered for having a smile on her face and greeting everyone.
