Damon Phipps, 43, of Columbia Missouri entered his eternal home with Jesus Christ on Friday, September 11, 2020. His wife, Morgan and pastor were at his side. Damon passed away from complications following a long illness.
A celebration of Damon‘s life will be on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70, Columbia Missouri. Friends may gather from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm for visitation prior to funeral services.
Damon was born July 22, 1977 in Modesto, California, the son of Robert Sangster and Teresa (Teri) Kunkel. On March 5, 2020, Damon married Kimberlie Morgan Parks and together they raised two sons, Christian and Damon (Baby D).
Damon was a loving husband, father, son and friend. Life was the best it could be he would say. He was a roofer and siding installer in Columbia. Damon and Morgan enjoyed road trips, rock hunting, exploring nature, and gardening. One of Damon’s many passions was antique shopping with Morgan. He recognized uniqueness and beauty in antiques and in life and was thankful for all that he had. Damon got a second chance all those years ago and he made it count.
Damon loved spending time with his family, friends and pets. Sadly, Damon’s life was cut short as God had other plans for him. Heaven needed another warrior so Damon was tasked with the job.
Damon is survived by his wife, Morgan; children, Devon, Avrill, Christopher, Kyle, Christian, and Damon Phipps, all of Columbia; sisters, Shannon and Amanda Sangster of Modesto, Heather Peters of Columbia; and his parents, Robert and Teri.
