Memorial services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia. A gathering for family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Dennis was born February 23,1954 in Crocker, Missouri to Paul and Laura Long and they preceded him in death. He was married to Teresa Morris on June 13, 1992 in Harrisburg, Missouri and she survives.
Dennis attended Sedalia Smith-Cotton High School as a member of the Class of 1972. He worked for the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department for 20 years.
He was an avid golfer and he liked to fish but his greatest love was spending time with his children and watching them play sports.
Survivors also include son. Ryan Long of Hallsville; daughter, Adriane Long of Hallsville; brothers, Dickie (Karen) Long of Sedalia and Kevin (Lela) Long of Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Renee (Pat) Wagner of Sedalia and sister-in-law, Becky Long of Liberty, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Long.
