
Evelyn E. Krick, 95 of Columbia MO, formally of Ft. Wayne IN died Friday, April 17, 2015 at her daughter's home. Her body was donated to the University of Missouri. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Evelyn was born May 8, 1919 in Huntington County to Mr. & Mrs. R. A. Adams. She lived in North Manchester IN for 8 years until the family moved to Decatur IN where she graduated from Decatur High School in 1937. She attended Manchester University. Evelyn married Frank (Jim) Krick Jr. March 6, 1942. Jim & Evelyn spent 2 years in Bloomington after WWII while Jim finished his degree at Indiana University. Most of their married life was spent in Fort Wayne where Jim owned an advertising agency for many years. They had celebrated their 54th anniversary when Jim died in 1996. When Evelyn was 70, she received corneal transplants. After her transplants, as a way of giving back, she volunteered for 15 years as a reader at the Northeast Indiana Radio Reading Services. For 58 years Evelyn was an active member of Simpson United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women in Ft. Wayne. She held a part time secretarial position at Allen Country Juvenile Probation Office for 15 years. Evelyn was a member of the Ft. Wayne chapters of Psi Iota Xi and PEO. In 2010 Evelyn moved to The Terrace Retirement Community in Columbia to be near her daughter. Survivors include daughter Vicki Leith (Philip); grandsons Kevin Marema, his wife Marken & son Andrew of Ellisville MO & Brian Marema, his wife Kristin & son Trenton of Columbia MO; numerous nieces, nephews; great nieces & nephews Any memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
