Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11:00 am at Midway Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Hanson officiating. Visitation will from at 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the church.
Gloria was born November 2, 1929 to Roy D. and Helen I. Kerr in Springfield, IL. She was united in marriage to Dewey K. Turner on July 28, 1949. They were married 57 years. He preceded her in death February 28, 2007.
Gloria was a devoted wife and mother who worked hard to take care of their six children while employed full time at Shelter Insurance. She retired from Shelter Insurance December 16, 1987 after 25 years of service. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, volunteering at church, crafting, and spending time fishing at their cabin on the Gasconade River.
Gloria is survived by four sons: Gary, Steve (Robin), Warren (Wanda), David (Mark), one daughter: LouAnn Triplett (Carl), two sisters: Lila Furse and Sue Baumgartner of Doolittle, MO, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Joe, and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Granny’s House, Coyote Hills Children’s Home, or Rainbow House.
