Janice Gail Whitaker

Janice Gail Whitaker passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at her home in rural Madison, MO. She was born September 20, 1955 to Anna Mae Schnell-Strawn and John V. Strawn of Columba, MO and they preceded her in death. She graduated from Hickman High School in 1973 where she played in the Hickman HS band and was a majorette.

Janice worked for University Hospital for over 20 years and then at Hubbell Chance in Centralia, MO until she retired.

In 1975, she married Ronald Canole and they had one daughter, Rhonda Canole. After they divorced, later she married Stacey Whitaker Sept. 10,1992. They have been married 29 years. Stacey Whitaker has 3 sons from a previous marriage, Josh, Jacob and Levi Whitaker.

She is survived by her husband, Stacey Whitaker of Madison MO; her daughter, Rhonda Cuddy and spouse Michael of Ashland, MO; step-son Josh Whitaker and spouse, Lori of Moberly MO; Jacob Whitaker and spouse Tiffany of Keytesville, MO; and Levi Whitaker and spouse, Robin, of Keytesville, MO. Janice has 14 grandchildren; Michayla, Gavin, Ely, Lianna, Ella, Jayden, Taylor, Gus, Montana, Wesley, Haley, Holly, Dakota, and Peyton, 3 great-grandchildren; Lillie-Mae, Ian and Ludias.

A celebration of Janice’s life will take place on Saturday, December 4th at 11 AM, at the Rockbridge Church of God Family Life Center. The church is located at 3515 Valencia Drive, Columbia, MO 65203.
