Dear Mary and family,

What a gift to Columbia he was! I fondly recall the years as your family florist, when he sent roses, roses, roses, to Garfield Heights, Ohio, to his mother on her birthday. One year I recall we sent 90! Of course John's most precious tribute to the ladies of his life would be Jenny's wedding at Our Lady of Lourdes. I still remember how much he loved the sanctuary wall completely covered in Monet hued flowers and the garlands of baby's breath down the aisle.  My mother-in-law,  Barbara Zeller, was one of his former patients and talked of him frequently. She too sends her condolences. 

Though it's been 26 years since my happy years in Columbia, as I read of the names of your children in the obituary, I can still see their faces as teenagers. What a legacy to now have 12 Grandchildren to cherish their memories of this incredibly giving man. 

Please accept my deepest sympathy. It has been an honor for my wife and I  to know your family.

All of you are in our thoughts. Uncle John was truly a fun loving and adventurous guy. I remember him showing up at the campground in Ohio one summer day in his little red Porsche. He had a twinkle in his eye as he described how much fun it was driving the car and how fast it would go.

He will be missed.
