Born in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 19th, 1935, Judy graduated from Lillis High School and dedicated more than 50 years to working as a bookkeeper beginning with Jacks Gourmet and ending with Ardellas Pizza.
Judy married Ralph Kendrick Pfremmer Jr in 1955. They lived in Columbia, Missouri, where they raised two children, Kathryn Pfremmer Hawkins (Darryl) of Columbia, and Ralph Kendrick Pfremmer III of Eureka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Basil and Emma Summers, and her siblings Patty Bingaman, Betty Starkey, Steve Summers, and Basil Summers. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Long of Kansas City.
Ralph and Janie (Bland) have a daughter, Natalie Jane Crutcher (Scott), and our newest addition, great granddaughter, Savanah Jane Crutcher of Manchester, Missouri. In 1978, Judy moved to Redondo Beach, California. Fate had a hand in her meeting the great love of her life, Jesse Leon, a retired longshoreman and member of ILWU Local 13. He was an avid golfer and held the club record at Harbor Park Golf Course for many years. They both enjoyed traveling with a local golf club. They lived in Torrance, California for many years. Together, they traveled the world. Judy loved to plan an adventure and was always ready to go weeks before their scheduled departure. Spending quality time with Jesses family in Palos Verdes, California, was a priority. The bonds forged between Jesse's family and Judy’s children remain strong after Jesse’s death in 2017. He is survived by his daughters, Diane Puccio (Sam), Elaine Ferguson Hulse, and Jessica Fontes. Judy couldn’t hide the fact that Diane’s son, Joe Puccio, was her favorite.
Judy returned to Columbia, Missouri in 2017 to be near her family. She was the “Kansas City Chiefs’ Biggest Fan”. Judy was granted the wish of attending a Chiefs game this past August, thanks to a lifelong family friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held in January at a time to be announced. Judy will be interred next to her love, Jesse Leon, at Green Hills Cemetery in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, by her family at a later date.
