

She was born on October 2, 1979, in Columbia, Missouri, to John Vaughan and Karen (Howard) Vaughan.
She was united in marriage to Kevin Thompson on June 3, 2006. He survives her.
Kanvice earned her master’s degree in education from William Woods. She taught 5th grade and high school Social Studies in Hallsville. She was an outstanding teacher and made a lasting impact on her students and community.
Kanvice loved her husband and her three boys, Ethan, Kaden, and Beckett, endlessly; they were her world. She was a close friend to many and truly lit up a room when she walked in. Known for her wit, great conversation, and contagious laugh and smile, she was often the life of the party.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Kevin Thompson; her parents, John and Karen Vaughan; her children, Ethan, Kaden, and Beckett Thompson; her sisters, Libby Williamson (Robbie) Cassie Powers (Larkin), and Jonna Davis (Adam); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
A private graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, 1217 Business Loop 70 W, Columbia, MO 65202. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on January 2, 2026 at Elks Lodge, 4747 E Elk Park Dr, Columbia, MO 65201.
Memorial donations are suggested to Kevin Thompson to support Kanvice’s scholarship fund and her children’s legacy.
