Born August 1, 1943 to Helen (Butler) and John Joyce, Jr. in Chicago, Illinois, she spent much of her adult life in Wisconsin. It was there she raised a family, taught elementary school and eventually retired from the Germantown School District, and was an active and lifelong member of the Moose Lodge #1238.
After retiring to Port Charlotte, Florida, she was very involved in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. It was not only a place for her to practice her faith, it became her community as well. Kay faithfully attended weekly bible study, taught Sunday school, and felt called to attend funeral services for parishioners with little or no family in the area. Her kindness and humor will be deeply missed.
Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Dubnicka, Sr., and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Balestrieri.
Survivors include her children, William Balestrieri of Columbia, Missouri; Tammy Kuhlhanek (Richard) of Waukesha, Wisconsin; Kathleen Markley (John) of Columbia, Missouri; Michael Dubnicka Jr. of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; and Patrick Balestrieri (Megan) of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. She is also survived by siblings Sonia Fry (James) of Oxnard, California; John Joyce III of Kissimmee, Florida; and Maureen Bangs (Bolton) of Hales Corners, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, Florida online at stcharlespc.org or to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Columbia, Missouri online at ourladyoflourdes.diojeffcity.org.
