Marylyn Joyce Dahl

Marylyn Joyce Dahl, 93, passed on May 22, 2026; she was born September 21, 1932, in Cherokee, Iowa to David Leo Kirkpatrick and Marjorie (Brown) Kirkpatrick. Marylyn ‘s family moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where she graduated from

High School. While at Augustana College earning an Elementary Education degree, she met Milo Dahl. They wed in November 1953 and were married 71 years. Over the years Marylyn studied Library Science courses at Memphis State and did some substitute teaching. While living in Cook County, IL she served as an election judge and established a PTA in Elk Grove Village. She was also very active in Lutheran Church groups. Milo and Marylyn retired to Columbia MO where they resided for 33 years.

Marylyn is survived by her three children, Debbie (Wilbert) Johnston, David Dahl, and Valerie (Jim) Busch, 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Jason, Amanda, Chris and Laura, 8 great grandchildren, Aubrey, Callum, Deacon, Declan, Taryn, Fenton, Eislyn and Riley, and two nieces, Judy Banta and Linda Sheridan.

A visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 BUSINESS LOOP 70 W, COLUMBIA, MO on May 30, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. A committal service will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
