Rebecca "Becky" Alice Forbes

Becky was born on March 31, 1942, in Kirksville, MO to Glenn E. and Lucile Burch (nee Heiman). She married the love of her life, Kenneth C. Forbes, on October 20, 1962, in Fayette, MO. They celebrated 40 years together before his passing in 2003.

Becky was an Accredited Records Technician for many years as well as the Librarian of Field Elementary School during the 1980s. She enjoyed working with children and her friendships with her colleagues.

Becky enjoyed reading, period dramas, and Irish music. She was skilled at both needlework and crochet. She loved cats, snow, and was an early proponent of sunscreen. She never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing stories and reminiscing.

Becky was preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenny, her parents Glenn Burch and Lucile Neighbors, and her sister Glenda E. Sutton.

Becky is survived by daughters Samantha (Kit) Brewer of Belleville, IL and Stephanie (Christopher) Petersen of Kansas City, MO, three grandchildren; Zooey Brewer of Pittsburgh, PA, Kieran Brewer of Belleville, IL, and Graham Petersen of Kansas City, MO, sisters-in-law Deb Ferren of Columbia, MO and Dayna (Bill) Salsgiver of Manchester, MO, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Becky will now rest next to her beloved husband Kenny at Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia, MO.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life in the autumn.
