Services will be held on June 6, 2024 at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia. The family will receive friends from 12 PM to 2 PM, followed immediately by a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery at 2 PM with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating.
Rolla was born January 2, 1934 in Crane, Missouri to Loren and Jewel (Currin) Merritt. He was a longtime employee of Shelter Insurance and enjoyed tinkering with old cars and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Helen; sons Glen Dale (BA), Ronald Dean (Susie), Donald Gene (Marla); six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Cutbirth.
In addition to his parents, Rolla is preceded in death by a brother, Stanley and two sisters, Ora Johnson and Drucilla Wheeler.
