

Rosemary Loethen, 85, of Alpharetta, GA formerly of Columbia, MO passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 8, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 903 Bernadette Drive, with burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Jefferson City. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am prior to Mass.
Rosemary was born March 14, 1936 in Ottumwa, IA to Montie and Trellis (Major) Wilcoxon. Their family moved to Jefferson City where she attended high school, and on July 20, 1957, she married William (Jerry) Jerome Loethen at St. Peter Cathedral. She and Jerry moved to Columbia where they began their family. She worked as a Clerk for the ROTC at the University of Missouri before her retirement. She was an excellent cook and loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed traveling with Jerry and her family. She loved playing golf, taking boat rides at the Lake of the Ozarks, and spending time at the beaches in Florida.
She is survived by eight children, Mary (Kent) Sparks of Farmville, VA, Jean Loethen of Cumming, GA; Patty (Mark) Stretz of Ocean Springs, MS; Janet (Phil) Newell of Dawsonville, GA; Nancy Cain of Dunwoody, GA; George (Denise) Loethen of Columbia, MO, Amy (Patrick) Ryan of Little River, SC; and Ellen (Michael) Elwood of Lincoln, NE; brothers, Donald (Germaine) Willcoxon of Jefferson City, MO, Montie Willcoxon of Sandy Springs, GA, and Helen (Jim) Heidbreder of Jefferson City; 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. Preceded in death by her husband William Jerome Loethen; grandson Harley Stretz, two sisters, and a half-brother.
