

Services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 31st, at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, followed by visiting time until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Thomas’ ashes will be inurned later in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Tom was born May 2, 1939, in Columbia to Thomas Benjamin Stewart, Jr., and Julie Lee (Merideth) Stewart. He attended Lee Elementary School, Jefferson Junior High, and was a graduate of Hickman High School. He attended Northeast Missouri State College (Truman State University) in Kirksville, Missouri, and the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. On November 17, 1962, he married Cynthia Ann (Morris) Stewart, who preceded him in death. He was a bricklayer and mason for many years, raised, bred, and trained mules, and enjoyed hunting deer, turkey, and elk. He was a Master Mason in Acacia-Twilight A.F.&A.M., and a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Columbia Valley Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite.
Tom is survived by his children, Charles Brent Stewart (Kris Stewart), Douglas Preston Stewart (Gigi Stewart), and Maria Jane Renner (Keith Renner, deceased); grandchildren, Haden Stewart Renner (Abbie, engaged), Landon Keith Renner, Benjamin Charles Stewart, Walter Douglas Stewart, and Thomas Edward Stewart; and great-grandchild, Holden Keith Renner. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lora Lee (Stewart) Howard and Kitty Sue (Stewart) Gibbs; and a brother, James Simpson Stewart.
