Todd was born on October 4, 1957, in Columbus, Wisconsin, where he was raised and spent his early years. As a young man, he learned the value of hard work while attending high school and working alongside his family at their meat packing plant. He graduated high school in 1975 from Sun Prairie High School. In 1986, Todd moved to California, where he went on to build a successful career as a general contractor, a role that reflected his strong work ethic and independence.
On June 20, 1992, Todd married the love of his life, Ruth, in Antioch, California. Together they built a life filled with family, shared interests, and countless memories. They relocated to Columbia in May, 2021.
Todd was a proud member of the Pachyderm Club and had a lifelong love of fishing. Some of his happiest moments were spent by the water, especially when he was able to share that passion with his grandchildren. He was also an enthusiastic sports fan, known for his loyalty to his favorite teams—the Green Bay Packers, San Francisco Giants, and Golden State Warriors. Todd never met a stranger and always had a story to tell.
Todd is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Beck; his mother, Carol Beck of McFarland, Wisconsin; his children, John (Julie) Block of Concord, California, Justin (LeeAnne) Block of Huntsville, Missouri, Roxane Block of Crow’s Landing, California, and Sabrina (Chase) Poole of Katy, Texas; his siblings, Dawn Beck of Concord, California, Yvonne Beck of McFarland, Wisconsin, and sister-in-law Jane Beck of Cambridge Wisconsin; his cherished grandchildren, Madison and Hannah Block, Kinsley (Blaine) Love and Kiersten Block, Devon (Rechel) Ward, Abby Ward, and Jaxon Poole; and his beautiful great-granddaughter Kara Ward. He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Beck, and his brother, Rick Beck.
Todd will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his love of the outdoors and all sports, and his craftsmanship as a general contractor.
