

A private graveside service with full military honors was conducted at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, Missouri.
William was born August 13, 1946 in Fulton, MO the son of Walter B. Mickey and Dorothy (King) Mickey who both preceded him in death. He served his country with distinction in the U. S. Army serving in Vietnam during the Tete Offensive. He retired from service in 1992 with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was employed at the VA Hospital as a nursing assistant and medical clerk. He went on to retire from the VA in 2006.
William, known as Mick to his extensive group of friends, was a car guy. He especially loved 60s and 70s era muscle cars and his hobby was building model cars. He enjoyed drag racing his own cars well into his 70s and showing off his car at local car shows. He could often be found at the local garage discussing modifications to his car.
William is survived by his brother: JR Mickey RN wife Kathleen R Mickey, one sister Juanita Mickey a nephew Dr. Walter L Mickey and wife Kelsey Mickey, niece Tomi N Mickey (Ly) husband Malvin LY, Kodi M Mickey husband Allan Brinker, Dakota N Mickey (Jordan) husband Dominique Jordan, great nieces Kaitlyn Mickey, Molly Mickey, Fiadh Mickey, Alice Jordan, Cheyenne Brinker, Audrey Brinker two special friends: Todd and Melinda Cardone and their family. In addition to his parents William was preceded in death by one sister: Viola Mickey.
