Bernice Smith

Bernice Smith, age 92, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. A native of Marion County, MS and longtime resident of Morgantown, MS, Bernice retired from Bell South after having worked there 40 years. She later was primarily a homemaker. Bernice was a member of the Eastern Star and Morgantown Church of God.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Smith; parents, Murry and Flora Dunaway; brother-in-law, Wayne Morgan; and nephew, Dave Morgan. Survivors include her sister, Mary Loyce Morgan of Morgantown; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Morgantown Church of God where friends may visit with family from 11:00am until service time. Reverend Cory Odom will preside over services and will be assisted by Reverend Derry Dunaway, and Dr. Louis Morgan. Interment will follow at Morgantown Cemetery.
