Billie C. "Scooter" Sanford

Billie C. “Scooter” Sanford, age 78 of Seminary, MS passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS, She was of the Baptist faith and employed with Rutter- Rex of Columbia, MS for a number of years and later became a homemaker, which she much enjoyed. She loved to sew quilts and often made her children’s clothing for Easter and other occasions.

Ms. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, William J. Cotten and Lillie Mae Cotten; and brother, Bobby Joe Cotten. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Amanda Amundson (Carl) of Seminary; her son, Christopher Sanford of Seminary; a brother, Larry Cotten (Rita) of Hattiesburg; three grandchildren, Audrey Amundson, Christopher Sanford, Jr., and Bradley Sanford; and four great-grandchildren, Keyton Amundson, Bryden Coyne, Titan Carroll, and Abilene Sanford.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 9, 2023 at the funeral home chapel. Brother Everette Broome will officiate and burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
