Carlton Leo Swayze Sr.

Carlton Leo Swayze, Sr., of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at the age of 74. He was born in Attala County, Mississippi to Henry Leo and Minnie Lou Swayze. Carlton was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a painter by trade and has been a longtime resident of Columbia. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Opel Ridge and Janice Bullock, and Becky Carter; a son, Michael Swayze; and a grandson, Carlton Swayze III. Carlton is survived by two sons, Carlton (Mona) Swayze, Jr. and Steven (Tracy) Swayze, Sr.; two sisters, Doris Cooper and Edna Scanlan; eight grandchildren, Christina “CJ” Swayze, Connor Swayze, Samantha (Justin) Graham, Holly (Javas Walters) Swayze, Steven Swayze, Jr., Kelli Lott, Gracie Lott, and Marissa Lott; and four great-grandchildren, Carmen Walters, Crimson Walters, Kyzer Swayze, and Ryder Graham. There will be a visitation for Carlton on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 9:00am until 11:00am at Colonial Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at the graveside in Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:30am.
