Charles Dennis Head Sr.

Charles Dennis Head, Sr., age 71 of Columbia, MS passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS. A native of Poplarville, MS and longtime resident of Columbia, Charles was a diesel mechanic and a veteran of the US Navy. He attended West Columbia Church of God.

Mr. Head was preceded in death by his daughter, LaRita Joyce Brumfield; parents, William Lampton Head and Sylvester Warden Head; sisters, Dixie Lucille Head, and Christine Head Smith; and brothers, Thomas Sollie Head, and Morgan Lampton Head. Surviving family members include his wife, Mary Head of Columbia; five daughters, Tracey Lynn McBride (Ricky) of Picayune, MS, Shannon Marie Head Duncan (David) of Columbia, Melissa Jane Rasp (Jason) of Loxley, AL, Pamela Renee Alford (Michael), and Tina Marie Hedgepeth (James), both of Columbia; three sons, Charles Dennis Head, Jr. (Sherry) of Oak Vale, MS, Oliver William Ray Hudson of Georgia, and Alton LeeRoy Hudson (Ashley) of Columbia; a sister, Vivian Cook (Leon) of LaCombe, LA; a host of grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 4, 2021 at West Columbia Church of God where family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until service time. Reverend Lane Turnage and Reverend James Williamson will preside over services and interment will follow at Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery assisted by Michael Alford, Caleb J. Hudson, Caleb M. Hudson, Peyton McBride, Michael Smith, and Randall Allange as pallbearers.
