On Saturday, August 8, 2020, Daniel R. King joined his wife in the presence of the Lord at the age of 71. He was born in Columbia, Mississippi to Howard and Wydell King and remained a lifelong resident of Marion County. Danny, as he was known by his friends and family, worked in the oil field for 22 years then began driving a truck that allowed him to see every state in the continental U.S. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Columbia and enjoyed being on the river fishing and boating. Danny loved his family and church family and will be remembered as a hard worker who was devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Aleeta King. Danny is survived by a daughter Regina King; a sister, Donna King Thomas; two brothers, Terry King and wife, Robin King and Bobby King; three grandchildren, Brandon Graham and wife, Katelyn Graham, Kristen Gay, and Conner Gay; two great-grandchildren, Sadie Grace Burton and Jackson Daniel Graham; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service, officiated by Doctor Bryant Barnes, will be at 10:00am on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at First Baptist Church where friends may visit from 9:00am until service time. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery assisted by Jeffery Cotten, Hayden Hollingsworth, Mason Vince, Don Moree, Joe Shelton, Chris Graham, Hunter Rand, Tim Fortenberry, Josh Stuckey, and Ben Baughtman serving as pallbearers.
