Glynn was a hard worker his entire life, beginning as a young boy helping his father on the farm in the Improve community. After graduating from high school, he went to work offshore. During his 39-year career in the oilfield, he worked his way up from a roustabout to tool pusher and ultimately to consultant.
He always looked forward to spending his time off with his wife and family. He loved hunting and fishing with his boys and cherished time spent with his five grandchildren. Glynn also enjoyed camping, family vacations in the mountains, eating out with family and friends, spending hours on his lawnmower, and relaxing on the porch at his camper.
After retiring from the oilfield, Glynn served as the groundskeeper at the Columbia Water Park, where he formed many special friendships with his coworkers. He worked diligently to clean up the park and make it a safe and welcoming place for families to enjoy fishing, hiking, boat rides, softball and soccer games, and picnics. He also prepared the grounds for cross-country meets, disc golf tournaments, family reunions, and Gator Fest.
During this time, Glynn grew in his relationship with the Lord. He enjoyed reading his Bible by the river. The outdoors was where he felt most at home and where he found peace and closeness with God.
Glynn is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Ginger Pope Pierce; his sons, Grant Pierce (Tara) and Gannon Pierce (Stephanie); and his five grandchildren: Jaelynn Sandifer, Rhylie Sandifer, Oliver Pierce, Corbin Pierce, and Anslee Pierce. He is also survived by his sisters, Elmo Dean Robbins and Lawana Roberts (Larry); his father-in-law, James E. “Nun” Pope; and numerous nieces and nephews.
