Gracie Janette "Cricket" Edwards

Gracie Janette "Cricket" Edwards, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away surrounded by her family on December 5, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born in Marion County to J.P. and Etta Baughman where she has remained a lifelong resident. Gracie was a simple person who devoted her life to making home a special place for her husband and five sons. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and preparing meals for her family who had the benefit of experiencing her excellent cooking skills. Gracie was an active member of Grace Baptist Church .

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Cook and four brothers, Gerald Baughman, Jimmy Baughman, Richard Baughman, and Levy Baughman. Gracie is survived by five sons, James A. Edwards, Sr., John (Mary) Edwards, Charles Edwards, Jack Anthony Edwards, and Mark Edwards; four grandchildren, Jaclyn (Jason) Goar, Lindsey Edwards, Jennifer (Chris) Martin, and James A. Edwards, Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Jaran Goar, Jaeda Goar, Josye Goar, Anna Ladnier, Abby Ladnier, and JoJo Rollins; and one great-great-grandson, Jasper Ladnier.

There will be a visitation for Gracie at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 10:00am to 11:00am. A graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:30am where she will be laid to rest.
