Jeanne Beth Ward, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away at her residence on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the age of 69. She was born in Columbia to Charles and Frances Ward where she has remained a lifelong resident. Jeanne Beth was a registered nurse and loved caring for her patients. She spent her entire working career as a nurse and was employed for many years at Marion General Hospital. Jeanne Beth was a person with an adventurous spirit who had many interests. She enjoyed the excitement of traveling to numerous places around the world and the peace of being home engrossed in a good book. Jeanne Beth was a prolific reader and an aspiring writer. She had a love for music, excellent cooking skills, and was known for her special love for her cats. Jeanne Beth will be remembered as a special and unique individual.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Ward. Jeanne Beth is survived by a daughter, Joni Ward Moree (Don); three brothers, Tommy Ward (Marcella), Lonnie Ward (Rhonda), and Jerry Ward; two grandchildren, Alayna Moree and Peyton Moree; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation for Jeanne Beth at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 11:00am until 1:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Brother Bill Morris, will follow in the funeral home chapel at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery assisted by Lon Ward, Jim Ward, Tylan Andrews, Trent Broom, Zane Morea, and Nathan Simmons serving as pallbearers.
