

Larry Dixon, of Tylertown, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the age of 73. He was born in Columbia to Tamer and GB Dixon, Sr. and remained a lifelong resident of Marion and Walthall Counties. Larry was an excellent mechanic and made a living doing what he loved, repairing automobiles. He was a classic car enthusiast and especially loved a "57 Chevy. When he was not working, Larry was "tinkering" on cars and putting old cars back together. Known for his dry wit, he had a great sense of humor and will be remembered for the many practical jokes that he took great delight in playing on his friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Robinson and three brothers, GB Dixon, Jr., Claude Dixon, and Jerry Dixon. Larry is survived by two daughters, Liz Dixon and Ann Vaughn (Hank); four sons, Larry "Winky" Dixon (Myra), Bruce Dixon, Forrest Dixon, and Jamie Dixon; four sisters, Joyce O'Quin, Debbie Crain (David), Edgie Singley (David), and Rose Hicks (Steve); Grandchildren, David Dixon, Robert Dixon, Austin Dixon, Bentley Dixon, Lincoln Dixon, Nova Dixon, Jessica Vaughn, Lacey Vaughn, and Hunter Vaughn; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a funeral service to celebrate Larry's life at Colonial Funeral Home on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 4:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00pm until service time.
