Louie "Butch" Emler

Louie “Butch” Emler, age 77 and lifelong resident of Columbia, MS, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025 at his residence. He worked in the oil field for many years and was a member of North Columbia Baptist Church.

Mr. Emler was preceded in death by his father, Robert Emler; his mother, Billie Bracey; sisters, Kay Morgan, and Sue McNabb; brothers, Robert "Bobby" Emler, and Billy Joe Emler; nephews, TJ McNabb, and Robbie Emler; mother-in-law, Marilyn Thompson; father-in-law, Don Thompson, and a great-grandchild.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Emler; daughters, Tina Neal (Chris), and Traci Tinajero (Cuco); a special adopted daughter, Sherry Cooper; five grandchildren, Trent Lord (Nyla), Amber Bounds (Tony), Michael Lord (Catie), Tyler Tinajero, and Daniel Tinajero; and ten great-grandchildren, Gabby Lord, Bella Lord, Seeley Lord, Matthew Bounds, Layken Bounds, Hunter Bounds, Mayleigh Lord, Kayleigh Lord, Lincoln Lord, and William Neal.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at North Columbia Baptist Church in Columbia. Funeral services, officiated by Reverend Tommy Stogner will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM at North Columbia Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Morgantown Cemetery assisted by Trent Lord, Michael Lord, Johnathon Miller, Tyler Tinajero, Tyler Mitchell and Matthew Bounds. Honorary pallbearers will be Gabe Miller, Hunter Bounds, Seeley Lord, Lincoln Lord, Daniel Tinajero, Kayne Carauna and Will Neal.
