Pam Blakesley, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the age of 70. Pam was born in Belize City, Belize to Edward and Pamela Hastings as one of six children. She lived in New Orleans for 40 years and was a career educator who retired from teaching with the New Orleans public school system. Pam was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who was devoted to her family and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed frequenting the casinos. Pam will be remembered as a tiny person with a big personality who was feisty, funny, and easily made friends with everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Howard Blakesley. Pam is survived by two daughters, Carey Bigner and husband, Eddie and Amy Roberts and husband, Richard; three sisters, Janet Gibson, Sue Langston, and Michele Hastings; two brothers, Norman Hastings and Nicholas Hastings; four grandchildren, Aubrey Lilley, Holly Roberts, Richard Roberts III, and Mary Taylor Bigner; and her beloved dog and faithful companion, Buddy. There will be a visitation for Pam at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia, Mississippi from 3:00pm until 5:00pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. She will be taken home to Belize for a private service and burial.
