Bette Jane Compo passed away April 15, 2026 at the age of 88. Mrs. Compo was born and raised in Richmond Virginia and was a resident of Columbia, South Carolina since 1976. Bette was predeceased by her husband, Don Arthur Compo and parents, Isabel Pierce Throckmorton and William Franklin Throckmorton.
She worked in administration for Midlands Technical College for several years.
Bette was a wonderful mother to her six surviving children: sons, Arthur, Timothy, Christopher, and Michael Compo; and daughters, Teresa Sams and Lisa Compo. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A family graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
