Bettie Davis Mundy

COLUMBIA - Graveside service for Bettie Davis Mundy, 90, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, 4219 Hard Scrabble Road, Columbia, SC 29223. Mrs. Mundy died Friday, March 11, 2016. Born in Durham, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Lewis Walter Davis and Lyda Blanche Page Davis Williams. A member of Jackson Creek Baptist Church, she enjoyed traveling, going to the beach and cake decorating. She was a poll worker, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Dentsville #273 and a nutritionist at Duke University. Surviving are her daughters, Kay Jackson (Larry) of Lake Wateree, Pat Kimbrell of Columbia; grandchildren, Brooke Beach (Jeff) of Columbia, Chris Atlee (Tim) of Columbia, Rick Connolly of York, Wendy Shisler (Ray), Melanie Mundy; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Beck, Bradley Beach (fiancé Katie Donkel), Blake Beach and Jessica Beach and two great grandsons; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Susie Gaumer of Baltimore, Md.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Henderson Mundy; son, Robert Eugene Mundy; great-grandchild, Christy Mundy; brother, Johnny Williams; and sister, Frances Verill.
