

Blythewood: A graveside service for Cmdr. Charles M. Baucom, U.S. Navy (Ret.), 59, of Blythewood, will be held on Tuesday, at 11 o’clock, at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery with Pastor Frank Honeycutt and the Rev. Paul Pingel officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is assisting the family. Cmdr. Baucom was born on March 10, 1952, in New Orleans, LA. He was a son of the late Horace Clifford Baucom and Rosalind Windhorn Baucom. Cmdr. Baucom dedicated over 20 years of his life to the Navy, serving during Operation Desert Storm. He was proud to be a Top Gun graduate and F-14 test pilot.
Survivors include his daughter, Brittany (Chad) Baucom Owen of Lexington, SC; brothers, Admiral Larry (Linda) Baucom of Virgina Beach, VA, Admiral David (Peggy) Baucom of Yorktown, Virginia.
