She was born June 1, 1930 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of the late Julius Clement Marre’ and Mary C. Marre’.
Gloria loved the Lord and was devoted to the Catholic Church. Along with being a devoted wife and mother, Gloria assisted in creating businesses, O’Neal Plumbing Co. Inc., Go Plumbing Co. Inc. and Gold Maji Photography where she was the Art Director. She also was an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting immensely. She loved dancing, writing, attending the ballet, riding horses, driving sporty cars, volunteered at the VA Hospital working with Veterans that were in need and spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Her beautiful ray of sunshine will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Mathers of West Columbia; four children, Calvin Patrick (Cindy) O’Neal of Leesville, SC, Sandra O. (Steven) Taylor of Lexington, SC, Goldyn (David, deceased) Beckham of Rochedale Qld Australia and Julius Shaun (Julie) O’Neal of Gilbert, SC; three stepchildren, Layla (Gavin) Bushee of Olympia, Washington, Richard Mathers of Newberry, SC and Kim Mathers of West Columbia, SC; 32 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and a few great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Frances McBride and Virginia Phillips of California.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Calvin W. O’Neal; her son, Jared W. O’Neal and her daughter, Athena O’Neal Boulware; brothers, Lewis Marre’ and Greg Marre’.
