Joseph Louin McDaniel

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11:00 am at Dunbar Funeral Home Northeast Chapel. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 4:00 – 6:00 at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at Columbia Memorial Gardens.

Born in Hemingway, SC he was a son of the late Louin Tendle and Lula Ethel Cribb McDaniel. Mr. McDaniel served his country for 20 years in the US Army. He began his military career in the Airborne Division and served at Fort Jackson, Fort Campbell, Fort Bragg, the Dominican Republic, Korea and Thailand. After retiring from the Army he worked as a carpenter. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed football. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ethel Shirley Barbee McDaniel; sons, Randy McDaniel (Michele) of Roanoke, VA and Tommy McDaniel (Judy) of Ashland, KY; daughters, Sarah McDaniel Fulmer of Cayce and JoAnn Evangelista (Brian) of Greeneville, TN; brothers, Leroy McDaniel, Mitchell McDaniel, Toby McDaniel, Jerry McDaniel and Johnny McDaniel; a sister, Becky Wolfinbarger; eight grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
