

Kevin Boyce Douglas, 53, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. He was born on May 13, 1971, in Winnsboro, SC, to the late Bernie Leslie Douglas and the late Gloria Gail Douglas.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Amy Rebecca Lathan Douglas; daughter, Elizabeth Bernice Douglas, of Lexington, SC; son, Kevin Boyce Douglas, Jr. (Alexus) with the birth of their child Kinzlee Alexandria Douglas, of Swansea, SC.
Additional family members, Uncle, Rudy E. Walters (Carolyn), Aunts, Myra Walters (Craig), Karen Bedenbaugh, and Mary Gail Douglas, and mother-in-law, Susan Lathan.
His was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rodney Douglas, grandparents, Leslie and Bernice Douglas and Gene and Elizabeth (Lib) Walters.
Kevin started his military career in the South Carolina National Guard in 1994, he served with the 132nd Military Police, 133rd Military Police, and 178th Field Artillery Unit. During these years served under Operation Enduring Freedom at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. He later retired from the United States Army in 2006. Kevin worked at JPM, Standard Products, Northlake Construction, and Choate Construction Company before getting employed with Winnsboro Public Safety where he proudly served his community from 1999 until 2006.
He enjoyed volunteering with many organizations that included Community Volunteer Fire Department (Fairfield County), American Red Cross-Columbia Chapter, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of USA, and United Methodist Church Disaster Response Team. Kevin was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War, Lexington Post 8738, charter member of American Legion Post 60-Pelion, and Fellow Craft Mason of the Winnsboro Masonic Lodge No. 11. Growing up Kevin was a member of Union Memorial Presbyterian Church and attended Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church both in Winnsboro. Once he and his family moved to Lexington he joined Bethel-Peachtree Rock United Methodist Church in Pelion.
Along with fishing and hunting, Kevin loved carpentry, welding, and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle with many new friends.
Family Visitation will be held on January 11, 2025, Elmore Masonic Lodge No. 288, 936 Pine Street, Pelion, SC 29123 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A graveside service will take place on January 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229.
