Queenie Torigian (Gaynor), 100, was born January 1, 1921, of Armenian parents and heritage, in Istanbul. Her young travels brought her to Marseille, France, and then to Queens, New York. She passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Queenie was the daughter of late John and Shakeh Torigian.
Ms. Torigian was a talented fine artist throughout her life, a lifelong learner, great teller of interesting stories of her past, her heritage, and her dear friends of all generations. She is the proud mother of Alysia Gaynor Kehoe and Claudia Gaynor Ellis.
Queenie is survived by her children, Alysia (Timothy) Kehoe and Claudia (Gary) Ellis; niece, Christine Harrison; great niece, Jessica; great great nieces, Georgia and Charlotte; nephews, John Torigian and Michael Torigian; brother, Puzant Torigian and Yaver family; nephew, Barry (Barbara) Russell and many Gaynor in-law family members.
Memorial service and celebration of her life will be held in October in the midlands area.
