

Graveside services for Mrs. Smith will be 12:00 pm, on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA.
Agnes Irene Delacy Smith was born in Bleckley County, Georgia on July 28, 1928 to the late Charlie Tom Stokes and Gladys Butts Stokes. In addition to her parents Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Stokes and her Regal Persian “Tat”. The Stokes ancestral family castle is in Scotland. She was a loving wife and mother who devoted her life to her family, the CEO of her home, blessed with natural artistic abilities she created lasting memories for her family making paper dolls, a true southern cook, winning ribbons in local fairs. She was the definition of a southern lady.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her childhood sweetheart, loving husband of 55 years, William G. Smith; her devoted daughter, Lynda Simmons of Columbus, GA; a brother, Charles Stokes of Cochran, GA; a sister, Jean S. (Danny) Lee of Decatur, GA; a brother-in-law, Raymond Smith and his wife Martha of Augusta, GA; a niece, Diane Robb and her husband David of Brighton County, GA; a nephew, David Ross and his wife Penny of Williamson, GA; special family friends, Wade Hoolapa and family; many other relatives and friends.
