

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Striffler Hamby Mortuary with Ben Giselbach and Roger Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends after the funeral service on Sunday. A private burial will be at Ft. Mitchell on Monday.
Mr. Taylor was born in McMinnville, TN, on June 7, 1930, to the late Livie and Beatrice Taylor. He was proceeded in death by his two brothers, Nolan and Leonard Taylor.
He proudly served his country in the US Army for 21 years. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam campaigns, and was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge as well as many other commendations. He was also distinguished as a competitive marksman during his service. After completing a degree in Criminal Justice, he served his community as a deputy sheriff.
Mr. Taylor was an active member of Edgewood Church of Christ serving as a deacon for many years. He was an avid hunter who thought the best medicine was a walk in the woods. He was a beloved husband who adored his family. One of his favorite things was to laugh and play with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Dorothy Taylor, and his children: Mike Taylor (Donna), Randy Taylor (Diana), and Diane Tucker (Conway); devoted grandchildren: David Taylor (Janet), Robin Taylor, Ryan Taylor (LeAnn), Justin Tucker (Beka), and Brendan Tucker (Carrie); and treasured great-grandchildren: Mason, North, and November Taylor, and Noah and Sammy Tucker.
He will be greatly missed! Always the loyal Braves fan, he will be remembered for his good humor, service to anyone in need, devotion to God, and his sacrificial love. Stories of him will bring smiles, chuckles, and comfort to so many who knew and loved him.
